Thanks for visiting.
I am a photographer and tutor based in Edinburgh in Scotland.
I worked in corporate and editorial photography for many years, but now I primarily photograph wild environments and landscapes, and teach photography.
Many of the photographs here have been produced for the John Muir Trust, which is the leading wild land conservation charity in the UK. It works with people and communities to ensure that wild land is protected and that wild places are valued. Since 1983 the Trust has worked to conserve, campaign and inspire. My brief was to photograph the land that the Trust protects, and the people who live, work and volunteer on that land.
I have recently produced photo essays for the Post Collective, a media group with a focus on progressive politics, environment and technology.
I teach landscape photography courses, Photoshop, Lightroom training, dSLR and traditional (film) photography.
I also regularly run workshops and courses on styles of photography: landscape, street, city and architecture, and occasionally photography trips in sea kayaks.
I have run the UK's top photography workshop - or at least the highest - on the summit of Ben Nevis.
I can be booked directly or through Stills, Scotland's Centre for Photography. Sea kayak trips are organised by Seafreedom Kayak.
